The Teacher Training Course at Yoga India is offered 4 times a year. The Course lasts for 4 weeks and only a maximum of 16 people per intake. For more information about course dates please contact Yoga India via e-mail at info@yoga-india.net
To join the course you are required to stay for the full 4 weeks. Classes will be conducted from Monday to Saturday.
The goal of the Teacher Training Course is to bring the future teachers in the position to teach beginners and intermediate students with knowledge and self-confidence.
The TTC is only for experienced or at least intermediate students.
The Teacher Training by Yoga India is divided into 7 parts. It is designed to meet the expectations of the Yoga Alliance.
The 7 parts are:

- Technique, includes the training and practice of: asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, and meditation
- Teaching: includes the training and teaching of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher and the student's process of learning.
- Anatomy and Physiology: includes the study of physical anatomy, the skeleton, organs and muscles, cardiovascular system, Pancha Kosha & nutrition.
- Philosophy and Ethics: this part includes the study of yoga scriptures, ethics for yoga teachers, life of a yogi.
- Practicum: In these hours the students have to observe and assist classes lead by the main teacher and also teach by themselves.
- Karma Yoga: the students have to help to run the Yoga-school. Includes office w
ork, organization and public relations.
- Self-practice: study of books and discussion and practice of all above mentioned topics in a group.
The students have the opportunity to observe and assist the main teacher for approximately 10 lessons. During that time the students gain knowledge of the methodology of teaching which includes the principles of demonstration, instructions and observation.
Additionally, the students have the possibility to teach at least 5 hours with the supervision of the main teacher and eventually unsupervised.The basics of anatomy and physiology will be introduced and explained by an experienced local doctor. Topics will include; the structure and function of the skeleton, the main organs and muscles and the respiratory and the cardiovascular systems.

What is the duration of the Teacher Training Course?
The Teacher Training Course (TTC) runs for a full 4 weeks. Classes will be given from Monday to Saturday. Sunday will be a rest day.
How many intakes are there in a year?
Yoga India offers 4 TTC intakes a year.
When are the Course dates?

How many students are accepted in each intake?
Yoga India only accepts a maximum of 16 students each intake.
How do I qualify to enroll in the TTC?
The TTC is only for experienced (or at least intermediate) students with more than a year's strong and consistent yoga practice.
Is the Foundation Course a Pre-Requisite for the Yoga India Teacher Training Course?
Yes, for practitioners with one year or less strong yoga practice, or those with specific health problems.
For practitioners with more than a year's strong practice, they can apply directly to the Teacher Training Course.
What is covered in the Teacher Training Course?
The TTC is divided into 7 general sections, designed to meet the requirements of the Yoga Alliance.

- Karma Yoga :the students are required to perform selfless acts e.g. helping to run the Yoga-school, office work, organization and public relations.
- Self-practice : study of books and discussions and practise of all the above mentioned topics in a group
Is the Course taught in English?
Yes.
Will there be a written and practical exam at the end of the Course?
Yes, you will be assessed in both written and teaching evaluation exams at the end of the Course. The assessment exams are structured to meet the standards of the Yoga Alliance.
What accreditation will I receive after completing the TTC?
Upon meeting the attendance and disciplinary requirements of the TTC and Yoga Alliance, and upon passing your written and teaching evaluation exams, you will receive the 200-Hour Yoga Alliance certification from Yoga India.
Will a Course Manual be provided?
Yes, you will be provided with a Course Training Manual. You will also receive an optional list of additional/recommended reading titles, which you can purchase from the local bookstore in Mysore.
What am I required to bring along for the Course?
Apart from your own travel and daily necessities, please ensure that you bring along your own yoga mat, a notebook and some pens for the Course.
How much is the Course Fee?
Course Fee Rs 59900/- (INR), Early Bird Price 49900/-.
How do I register and pay for the fees?
Please complete the Online Application form, and email it to the Director of Yoga India at yogaindia@gmail.com. We will forward you instructions on fee remittance once your application is confirmed.Full tuition fee should be paid (payable in advance, in Indian Rupees) in order to secure your participation in the TTC.
Fees paid will not be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.
What if I don't want to become a yoga teacher after completing the TTC?
There are always a small number of students who take the 200-hour Yoga Alliance TTC without the set goal of becoming a teacher. Their reasons for this approach include a sincere desire to go deeper in their personal practice and to gain real knowledge and experience of immersing in a yogic lifestyle, under the guidance and tutelage of a yoga master.
Whatever your personal goals are, Yoga India always welcomes the open-hearted, sincere desire to learn the principles and philosophy of yoga, to achieve liberation.
Where can I stay during the training?
Every trainee is responsible for his or her own room and board and the expense for these arrangements fall outside the cost of tuition. There are many rooms and apartments for rent near the Yoga India shala. It is recommended to stay within 5-10 minutes' walk from the shala, as classes start very early in the morning.

What are the meal options?
As with accommodations, you are responsible for your meals. There are many wonderful vegetarian restaurants and catered home-cooked meals available in Gokulam, at very affordable prices. Alternatively, you can choose to cook your own meals if your landlord provides you with that option.

What if I have to miss a few days or hours?
Due to the intensive nature of the TTC, you are required to be available for the entire duration of your training. Punctuality is very important.
On-site hours meet and surpass the Yoga Alliance minimum standards and categories of training. In addition, we encourage you to lead a yogic lifestyle throughout your intensive course of study. It is not advisable to schedule other activities or take other part-time courses during the TTC. We have set aside this whole time to be with you and expect and want you to be 100% with us.
