Advance Yoga Course

Booking started for 4th December  2011 and 3rd June 2012 Courses


The Advance Yoga Course has been specially designed to give yoga students the opportunity for personal development and to intensively deepen their own practice. The duration of the course is 4 weeks and it will cover strong asana practice in bending to all directions (forward, backward, twisting and side-stretching) as well as intensive work on the hip joints, kriyas, pranayama, meditation and chanting.  

 

Back Bending: The course starts with simple back bending asanas like Ardha Chakrasana, Setubandasana, Urdhva Dhanurasana, Shalabasana A, B, & C, Bhekasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Ustrasana, Laguvajrasana, Kapotasana, Ekapada Rajakapotasana, and continues till Rajakapotasana, Poorna Shalabhasana, Ganda Bherundasana etc. The contrary practice for the back bending will be twisting, forward bending, balancing asanas, and breathing techniques.

 

Hip Opening: The course will help students to get into the following asanas through connected practice from a variety of simple asanas to advanced: Utthita Hasta Padangustasana, Ardha Baddha Padmottanasana, Virabhadrasana, Trianga Mukhaikapada Paschimottanasana, Marichyasana, A, B, C, & D, Bhujapidasana, Baddakonasana, Upavishta Konasana, Kurmasana, Supta Kurmasana, Garbapindasana, Kukkutasana, Supta Padangustasana, A, B, & C, Padmasana, Pashasana, Krounchasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Eka Pada Sirshasana, Dwi Pada Sirshasana, Yoga Nidrasana, Tittibasana, Vatayanasana, etc.

 

Pranayama: The course covers basic to advanced pranayama, as well as the practice of basic pranayama regularly. The practice will be conducted for half an hour, daily.

Requirements for the Advanced Course

Before enrolling for the Advanced Course, students should either:
• Have a minimum of 1 year of consistent asana practice (4 to 5 times per week), or
• Have completed the Yoga India Foundation Course, or
• Have completed the Yoga India Teacher Training Course
In addition, students should be comfortable with the following asanas:
• Chakrasana (maintaining the posture for at least 1 minute)
• Sirsasana (maintaining the posture for at least 1 minute)
• Any seated meditative asana (maintaining the posture in total stillness for at least 10 minutes)

 

Information Book will be provided and students need to have Light on Yoga by B.K.S Iyengar.

 

How to register and pay the fees?

Please send a request letter with your yoga experience and background. to info@yoga-india.net  Application Form will be sent you. We will forward you instructions on fee remittance.  In order to secure your place on the YOGA INDIA Advance Yoga Course full tuition fees, in Indian Rupees, need to be paid in advance. Fees once paid will not be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.
